Building the Espalier – Week Two

We built the arbor that stabilizes the pathway entrance at a convenient level, and raised it up to the top after it was complete. We used temporary screws to hold it in place during construction. Building the arbor. Low arbor

There is a temporary board screwed to the post to make it easy to hold the arbor in place while it is bolted.Up on top
Holes were drilled through the posts for the wires.

We made a jig out of 2 x 4’s that had holes drilled 6 inches from the top and 8 inches apart for the rest. The posts were cut off level and the jig used to drill the holes for the wire so that the wire would run straight and level.
