How to locate each variety when you are in the fruit garden. The garden is divided into 10 sectors. East 1 through 5 and West 1 through 5. On the outside of the map are Letters A through Z and numbers 1 through 26. Use the “Located” in the variety description to find each tree.
The following are the varieties in our fruit garden:

Atago has light tan russeted skin. It is a consistent heavy bearer with sweet fruit in September. A substantial crop of high quality, delicious fruit ripens late in the season. Atago has been a star in Mt. Vernon trials.

Shinseiki has yellow skin and sweet white flesh. It is productive and very similar to the variety called Nijseiki which is often found in the grocery store. Shinseiki performs better for us in our garden.
